Revenue Accountant - Hybrid

Our client is looking for a Revenue Accountant to join their team in Dallas, TX. 

Position Summary:

A successful candidate for the position will be an organized, self-driven, proactive, and detail-oriented team contributor who will deliver quality, timely results. The position will assist the Revenue Accounting group across multiple areas of activity and responsibility and play an important role in proactively ensuring the Company’s operational accounting requirements are completed with precision and accuracy. The role will help to identify process improvements and automations and participate in initiatives to improve accuracy and efficiency of the Revenue Accounting team.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, track, and reconcile revenue recording for onshore and offshore and non-operated properties.
  • Assist with revenue recording for onshore and offshore operated and non-operated properties.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Division Order, JIB, Marketing, Operations, and Corporate Accounting groups to ensure timely and accurate revenue recording.
  • Prepare and record monthly accrual entries.
  • Perform assigned monthly account reconciliations.
  • Assist with revenue distribution processes (payment variance reporting, withholding remittance, 1099s).
  • Provide support and documentation to external audit partner during annual audit.
  • Assist with monthly financial close activities.
  • Assist with tax and royalty reporting processes (including compliance audits).
  • Assist with special projects and operational accounting research.
  • Participate in and support the ongoing SAP S4 implementation project.

Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or related field of study.
  • 2+ years revenue accounting experience. 
  • Upstream Oil and Gas industry experience preferred.
  • SAP (specifically PRA) experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of state and federal compliance reporting requirements and procedures is a plus. 
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and able to multi-task.
  • Strong proficiency using Microsoft Excel.
