Senior Reservoir Engineer - Hybrid

Our customer is looking for a Top Level Senior Reservoir Engineer to join their team in Dallas, TX.

Position Summary:

  • Perform reservoir characterization for multiple assets both internationally and domestically
  • Run project economics for ongoing operations and new drill locations
  • Provide material balance, PTA, RTA, well test, etc. analysis to inform decision making for current operations
  • Screen and evaluate marketed and/or targeted acquisition opportunities
  • Provide type curves and well forecasts for planning purposes
  • Make recommendations for well locations, well spacing, completion design parameters, and other means to optimize well performance and development efficiency 
  • Conduct quarterly reserve summary and reporting
  • Perform reserves forecasting for operated assets in multiple regions internationally
  • Support reserves and forecasting work for non-op positions in Gulf Coast
  • Intermittently support other technical teams such as Corporate Reservoir Engineering and International Exploration when necessary

Required Skills:

  • ARIES, PHDWin, or similar proficiency
  • RTA familiarity (IHS Harmony or similar)
  • Analytic tool experience (Spotfire, PowerBI, or similar)
  • Material Balance, IPR, & nodal analysis software packages such as Petroleum Experts or similar
  • Simulation software such as Eclipse a plus
  • Ability to coordinate with cross functional disciplines including geology, drilling, completions, land, etc.
  • Experience in stochastic and risked modeling a plus
  • Experienced and proficient in presenting to peers and management
  • Ability to multitask and deliver work products in a time constrained environment
  • Ability to travel internationally on occasion as needed for interacting with operations teams.  Some trips may require a week long duration but only few times per year. 

Required Experience:

  • BS in engineering discipline
  • 12+ years of petroleum engineering experience, with minimum 5 specific to reservoir engineering
  • Experience in conventional and unconventional plays preferred
  • Offshore experience a plus
  • Experience in petrophysical analysis
  • Time working on an asset team as a development engineer a necessity, with the ability to run well and project economics
  • Proficiency in classical reservoir engineering analyses such as decline curve forecasting and pressure transient analysis a must; reservoir simulation experience a plus
